Many detailed feasibility studies have been undertaken for significant restaurant, bar, pub and hotel developments. Frequently, these studies have been for marginal sites or complex developments, where the financial potential is uncertain.

Demographic evaluation of the catchment and catchment definition
Projected consumer profiles for the new concept / development
Competitive environment and potential complementary attractions
Commercial analysis of the strengths, weaknesses and relevant risks to the scheme
Forecast trading potential
As a result of these reviews, many major retail developments are now trading profitably; but perhaps more importantly, several others have not been developed.
